Been on Errin almost 3 months. Having heavy bleeding, weakness, high blood pressure, increased sugars, severe cramps, migraines. Tingling skin after taking. Light chest pain. Have 3 clotting disorders and mitral valve stenosis (no issues til now). Periods every two weeks (sometimes sooner) soaks a pad an hour first 4 days. Have bloating, too. Is this normal?

I was on Camila for almost three years as birth control. I did not want anymore children so I took the pill everyday at the same time and almost three years on this pill I ended up pregnant with my third child. I love my baby boy he is a beautiful miracle. When you take the pill correctly and I was not on any antibiotics then it should work.

I was put on Camila after a diagnoses of anemia due to extremely heavy periods. My doctor first recommended a hysterectomy but I decided to research other options because I'm a very high surgical risk and I'm on blood thinners also due to a clotting disorder (factor V leiden). Normally, those people who clot easily cannot use birth control pills because they increase the risk of clotting but I discovered that the 'mini pill' (Camila, Micronor, etc.) does not carry the risks (blood clots, etc) that the combination bcp's carry according to my gynecologist so it was decided that I would give this a try for 6 months to see if it would lighten my periods enough to stop the anemia. Not only did it lighten my periods but I now only have about 3 to 4 periods a year and they are very light! I'm so glad I did my own research instead of automatically just having the surgery done.

I TAKE CAMILLA BECAUSE I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART ARYTHMIA AND AND ESTROGEN IS NOT RECOMMENDED. I TAKE CARDIZEM FOR BLOOD PRESSURE AND ARYTHMIA AND WAS TOLD THE 2 DRUGS TOGETHER INCREASES THE CAMILLA. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. I AM PERIMENOPAUSAL THE ONLY COMPLAINT WITH THE CAMILLA IS THAT PERIODS ARE EXTREMELY UNPREDICTABLE I MAY GO ONE WEEK OR 3 MONTHS WITHOUT ONE. ANY COMMENTS?

I used to take (Yaz)Ocella for birthcontrol. But it caused me to have severe migraines. So my doctor switched me to Micronor (Jolivette) since estrogen is not good for people who have migraines with aura.

I began taking this medication instead of Provera because of the damage the the Provera is doing to my bones. I take Aygestin due to Pelvic Conjestion Syndrome. My doctor said that Aygestin isn't as hard on your bones (Osteporosis) as Provera is and that is why I made the switch.

To ANYONE on Provera or Aygestin, please be sure to take Calcium supplements so that you don't lose bone mass.

I have recently started this pill to stop bleeding from peri-menopausal hormone imbalance and although it did stop the bleeding and other problems I was having, it caused my metformin to be ineffective and my blood sugar started going up more and more each day. I have now stopped this medicine because of the blood sugar issue and am now back to continual bleeding. Not sure what I will do next?

I have been on norethindrone for two years. I like the fact that I don't have any periods. Although, I think it's causing my blood pressure to be extremely high. I was using it for endometriosis as well but now as a form of birth control. If I miss 2-3 pills I will have bad cramps and my cycle will come on. Therefore, I try not to miss any. They worked very well with the hot flashes Lupron was causing me to have.

I am kinda confused as to why all of a sudden we are getting this elevated risk factor!! I was put on Nor-QD after having my son in Feb 2006. I was preeclamptic during my pregnancy and my OB doctor put me on this BCP because of my BP. She said that I didn't need to take a BCP with Estrogen. And to respond to another post, I too have had weight gain and never know when I will have my period. I may have 2-3 months that I have one and then skip 3 months. Very frustrating but my doctor does not even discuss putting me on anything else because of my BP (for which I am now on Bystolic for).

I've been using it as birth control because I have problems with possible blood clots, and estrogen increases that risk. I haven't heard of many other people using this as birth control. Every time I go to see a new doctor and I tell them I'm on Nora-BE, they have to ask me what it is.

I take the same drug but for Endometriosis. And when I go to the dr's they say the same as you have heard..."what drug is that for?". It has been workign great for my Endometriosis...and so far only weight gain has been an issue.

Since I have been taking the Ortho Micronor-28 (Norethindrone) I have stopped having Migranes, and PMS. I also have entered the menopause stage (age48) very easily by taking these pills I have only had one period 3 months ago then nothing since. I feel very calm and less stressed with these pills. When I was taking the Ortho-tricyclen Lo (Progestrone) I was having horrible menstrual migraines and very stressed out and irritable. When I researched the side effects of progestrone it was what was causing all my weight gain, migraines and pms. I hope this comment helps someone else.

My Dr. told me that they can reduce the dosage in half if you are having bad symptoms. I was having a problem with irritability - that sounds like too nice of a word for what I was feeling. I would call it intense rage and depression, high mood swings. It was alot for me to deal with because I am very even-keeled, even when there are things going on around me that I don't like. This new me was troublesome and I became afraid of losing my cool at work. I also have severe breast tenderness that feels like my nipples are being sliced or have been cut. Wearing even a loose shirt with no bra still hurt them. Additionally I still get PMS and had a very long period - even longer than what was caused by endometriosis, complete with cramps, extreme fatigue, irritability and pretty heavy bleeding followed up with an additional week of spotting. I have been reduced to half doses and my mood is less angry and more very sad. I guess that's better. My breasts only hurt sometimes. My period was still very long.

i think that's very interesting... if it causes irritabiliy why would my dr. put me on it after having a baby? I am on porzac now because of that same things you are talking about. I thought it was just post partum depression. hmmm. I'll have too think about that one.. I wonder if there's another birth control they can put you on while breastfeeding

I think that health care providers should be more aware of the side effects described above. My wife had a terrible reaction to this drug (extremely irritable). I went to her doctor and a marriage counselor and nobody even asked if she had started a new drug. If not for this website, I never would have put it together. Since she went of this pill, life has returned to normal.

SHOULDN'T THE PHARMACIST KNOW ABOUT THESE HIGH RISKS AND NOTIFY YOU IMMEDIATELY? ALL OF THIS INFORMATION IS IN MY RECORDS AT THE PHARMACY. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT KEEP CHANGING THE GENERIC EQUIVALENTS OF MY MEDS. NOW I'M BEGINNING TO HAVE TRUST ISSUES WITH THE PHARMACY, AND MY DOCTOR FOR THAT MATTER. SHOULDN'T THEY KNOW ABOUT THE HIGH RISKS OF USING THE MEDS TOGETHER? THAT REALLY STRESSES ME OUT AND WILL CAUSE MY BLOOD SUGAR AND BLOOD PRESSURE TO GO UP! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I've been taking Jolivette for about 6 months now after stopping the Depo shot. My breasts always seen to be tender to the touch and in the beginning to even wear a bra. Is this something to be concerned about? It's my only complaint about the pill.
