It's working very well for me. I've been losing an average of 20 pounds per month. I was very obese and I had lost 123 pounds on my own through portion control and exercise, but then my weight loss stopped so my Dr. Prescribed this to help me get the remainder of my weight off and so far it's working great, I have had no side effects at all. I would highly recommend this medication for you if you need to lose weight!

This is my 2nd day the first day I had sever indigestion & my liver was about to jump right out of my side, I have sirrosis of the liver or (fatty cell liver). I took only a half today & I am still having indigestion, not as bad, BUT. I am also on Cymbalta, Welbutrin SR, Topamax, etc. Do U think I should get off of this pill all together. I take 2 beta blockers for blood pressure. My dr will only let me try them for 3 months.

I have been taking Phentermine for over two years and I have lost over 30 pounds been up and down with weight gain because depression meds but the side affects will make you think that you are crazy at time because your mind will be racing so fast and you won't know what to do, and your head will start hurting at least mind did so I had to stop for a while, now I am back on them but I have to sometime take my anxiety meds just to stay sane. I sometime wonder is it worth it.

Due to my Hashimoto's thyroid I have HORRIBLE metabolism. My endocrinologist tried this on me. I've been on it for 3 months now. I did loose 10lbs (but only 10 in 3 months). I've had some nervousness and shakiness, but that stopped after I cut down on my caffiene intake. I'm about to come off and frankly I'm worried that I will put the weight right back on. Also, I think I'm having some minor sleep disturbances from it, but nothing horrible.

My heart dr gave me phentermine recently..........I have been afraid to take it because Im on wellbutrin sr. and several other meds..Your site does show a interaction between phentermine and wellbutrin.about seizures.I have never had a seisure in my life.I was put on the wellbutrin for depression about 2 years ago..hoping to get off it soon.......so Im wondering since i have had no siezures i would be ok to take the phentermine....the same pharmacy filled bot drugs. Thanks

Was on wellbutrin. Was given amphetamine due to weight gain from being sedentary. Discovered I was Bipolar. Went manic while I was on it. Wellbutrin was a pre-trigger & the amphetamine set it off. Now I'm only on a mood stabilizer. Doing "Pretty" good. Just started on phentermine to help with the weight gain from different mood stabilizers. Better at recognizing manic issues, & will withdraw phentermine at signs of mania. Hope you don't have manic tendencies since you have depression.

I also have only one kidney and have recently be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Also, about 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 renal failure. Not sure if the blood pressure med was the cause or not, but that is when my MD took me off the bp med.

72 – MediGuard

I have been taking phentermine for just about a year now. At the time I started taking this, my MD also changed my blood pressure med. I kept retaining water. He then gave me the same bp med with a water pill added. I started losing weight, but it has been slow. I have since been taken off my blood pressure med since I lost about 30 lbs. To me, 30 lbs. for that long a time is not too good. Any suggestions?

I have been taking Phentermine for years on and off but recently i feel my heart beat skip a beat or do a few quick beats and then back to normal. Anyone eles have this happen?

48 – MediGuard

I have also been taken it on & off for about 10 yrs & the same has happened to me also i even cut my dose thinking it would help but i still have the feeling of hard to breath not sure what is happeneing.

44 – MediGuard

yes i have and i am scared!

I take Lyrica, Topimax, Hydrocodon-Acetaminophn, Promethazine, and Morphine. I have chronic back pain, caused by osteopenia, sciatica, SI joint issues.) These meds cause weidht gain.

Within 15 mins of taking my blood pressure shot up 70 points and I developed the worst migraine I'd ever had in my life. Had my blood pressure not been normally low (90/60), it COULD have been much more serious.

60 – MediGuard

I asked my husband & to call 911. I'd never asked to him to do THAT before, so he knew it was VERY serious!!!

60 – MediGuard

I'm not giving advice, just providing my experience: if you are already taking medications that affect your nervous system, such as Lyrica and /or Topimax, you may want to reconsider Phentermine, or take a small test dose (I took 37.5 mg initially & I probably should have taken a half-pill, as a test.

15 years ago, when it was prescribed w/ "Phen Fen," & I wasn't taking other meds, I had no problem all (I was a bit nauseated, but nothing like this).

I've been on it a couple of months. At first it did stop my constant desire to eat and I was eating less than half of what I normally eat. Now the effect has worn off. I barely lost any weight even when eating so much less. (I have lost a total 5 or 6 pounds.) Will post separately about side effects as I don't have room in one comment!

56 – MediGuard

(Continuation of 9:07:57 comment)

The side effects have not been as bad as I expected but I have had a couple of episodes of extreme nervousness (not sure how to describe it but I just sort of freaked out and felt out of control - had to rapidly tap a surface to calm down). Also have recently noticed an increase in compulsive behavior which I'm prone to anyway. I rarely bit my nails but now 7 of 10 are chewed to the quick (along with the skin surrounding them).

Also have to add - Mediguard thinks I'm 48 but I'm actually 49! Off to check my profile.

Further continuation.

I've frequently had a tickle in my throat for a while on this.

I'm diabetic, on several meds for that, and one of those led to my most recent weight gain of 20 pounds in a few months. That's why I went on Adipex. The good news is, my blood sugar is much better.

56 – MediGuard

I have been on Phentermine for 1 month and have lost 5 1/2 pounds. I keep feeling like I should have lost more than that but am told that is pretty good. My doctor hopes to lower my cholesteral and blood pressure by getting my weight down to where it should be. I never seem to have the time for exercise - I would probably lose faster if I did. I have been having a bit of a headache and a very dry mouth since taking the meds, but it seems an acceptable trade-off. I am glad to feel in control of food - I've had the appetitie of a longshoreman and don't now.

68 – MediGuard

Dry mouth and headaches have been reported by MediGuard members taking phentermine. Although phentermine can help manage appetite, adopting healthy habits will help keep weight off in the long run. Filling up on water, vegetables and fruit will curb your appetite and help with your energy levels as well. Even small amounts of exercise will contribute to losing weight and keeping it off. Please continue to work with your doctor to develop long term weight loss management solutions.

Hi i have been off and on phen. for a few years. Weight is still all over the place. I have two boys 4 & 6. When Im on this drug I notice that im short with the boys. It wasnt fair to them so I stoped taking it for a while. When im not on it Im very tired, not fair for them either. Does anybody know of anything I could take for energy and weight loss with out the jumping out of my skin feeling.

Any medication that you would take for appetite suppression can cause restlessness or the the feeling of "jumping out of your skin". The best and safest route is getting some exercise, which not only helps with weight loss, but helps manage stress as well. Healthy eating and getting enough rest can also contribute to feelings of well-being and help you have energy and patience with your children.

I had the same problem. I have 3 boys, 12, 10 and 7 and when I took Phentermine a few years ago, I too was short with them, on or off. Raising children is overwhelming at times, not to mention the other duties involved. I tried just about every medication for depression, only to find it wasn't working. After much research on my part, and the consultation of my doctor, I was tested positive for ADD, which leads to depression. I began taking 30mg Adderall. I have more patience with my boys (all three are ADD) and we all get along. ;) I don't know what your situation is other than weight loss, but the Adderall helps me feel normal, plus I don't overeat and I am happy! I have taken Adderall for 5 years and maintained my weight from 198 to 140-145. I feel good and I am not grumpy if I forget a dose. I have no side effects at all, I sleep good, I eat when I am hungry and I am healthy.
Hope this helps! ;)

Taking Phentermine 3mths & lost over 35lbs. It gives energy to do daily activities & keeps from being hungry thru-out day. Big help: it gives me ability to re-train brain & eating habits - eat healthier, reduce meal portions, snack healthy, better eating times & speed up metabolism! (Bcuz of hunger suppressant & whatever else it does to brain to help think better about what/when/how u eat) Once started losing weight, that kicked brain power & energy level into high gear & med continues to kick brain into even higher gear/more energy/willpower to reach goal! My side effects minimal & worth it! Ive noticed if I take it EARLY every day, my side effects are less. Sleep great if take early & stay up late if take late. Other side effect is occasional confusion but occurs w/i 45min of taking it BUT maybe im not fully awake/alert. Sweating, only when my adrenaline going. Ive gotten where I weigh so I can see continued weight loss & keeps me going more!

Wow, sounds like you are doing well! I seem to have stopped losing after about 8 pounds and 6 weeks. I like the feeling of energy with it, but worry about dependency. I have started skipping taking it on some days and I do O.K. with the diet. I wish I could lose the other 35 pounds I need to lose.

68 – MediGuard

I've been on adipex for about a year and a half . I have lost 56lbs.My doctors keep taking me off some of my medications or taking the dosages down.My blood pressure is great. The only problem I have is with memory and restlessness.

69 – MediGuard

I have been on phentermine for 4 months now I have lost 15 pounds the doc says I am doing great, I see a counselor to help me emotionaly for the support I need to complete this trial in my life. I have been down on myself for the small amount that I have lost but everyone says it is good I do what I can being a diabetic it is hard and having children to run after every day is a challenge in itself but I make due, I only hope that this drug does the job it is suppose to do so I do not have to get the stomach bypass I hope I wont have to. Everyone wish me good luck k.

Good question, but I don't know why CVS would let you pay using your JCPenneys Charge card either but they do. I don't know if it's just the platinum which is what I have or not but I use mine there all the time.

52 – MediGuard

I have just completed my first month on Phentermine. With the combination of watching what I eat and this medication I have been able to lose about ten pounds. My doctor requires all of her patients to come in for a weight and blood pressure check each month in order to renew the prescription. I think this monitoring is a great idea. Outside of having a very dry mouth I think this is a wonderful drug.

I've been very careful in choosing the right pill for weight loss as most of them give me nothing but headache and side effects. I read about Phentermine and purchased it at WWW.MEDSHEAVEN.COM Now, I have my desired weight and I totally recommend it to those who's been into losing weight and all that.gle

I was given phentermine for the severe fatigue of multiple sclerosis. I take one when I wake up and another about 1 p.m. I am able to function better and can focus much better. Although I am tired by early evening, I can eat dinner and sleep by early evening. This is a HUGE improvement.

CVS has phentermine tablets for those people who need to split dosages which is much safer than opening capsules. While my weight is slowly coming down after large doses of IV steroids, phentermine does not seem to be making a big difference in that respect.

I would be interested in hearing from other MS patients using phentermine for fatigue.

I am taking Phentermine (18ish; I split 37.5 by emptying 1/2 capsule) OCCASIONALLY for weight control. I do not take it daily.

I have epilepsy (tonic-cronic) & take Lamictal (600 mg/day). I've had 4 seizures in 5 yrs. Not during periods of taking Phentermine. They were lack of sleep &/or medication timing. Immediate release Lamictal has a short half life and I wasn't aware of this; I'm on schedule now. 2 of the seizures were related to my change to Lamictal XR. I went back to 2x/day which is successful for me.
My doc prescribed the phentermine, my pharmacist shows no interaction, I don't see anything on my MediGuard chart. I've searched the internet. I wondered if personal program & history has a different effect.
Thank you for your input.
FYI: previous to Lamictal for Epilepsy, I was on Phenobarbitol and NEVER had a seizure from age 20-55; and I did the Phen-Fen diet.
PS: I love your website

for any one who wants to save money on the prescription of phentermine. I used to get it at CVS but it was too high. Now i get it at walmart and it only cost around $ 35.00 for a 30 day supply.

48 – MediGuard

If you have AAA you can get it for $11.00 but you have to ask every time.

62 – MediGuard

Why would you get a prescription cheaper if you belong to AAA, an auto club? Did you mean AARP and is this at CVS?
