What does this mean?

It is unlikely that the recalled Embeda will cause any adverse health problems when used as directed by your physician. However, since Embeda is unlikely to be available for some time, it is important that you contact your doctor before you complete your current prescription to arrange for alternative treatments once your existing supply has run out.

King Pharmaceuticals Inc. Recalls Embeda

King Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced that a voluntary recall of all dosage forms of Embeda extended-release capsules from U.S. wholesalers and retailers. Embeda is being recalled because the tablets did not meet stability requirements during routine testing by the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, Embeda will not be available for many months until manufacturing issues are fixed.

Embeda contains morphine and naltrexone and is used for around-the-clock management of moderate to severe pain.
